Matt specializes in unique, one of a kind antiqued signs that are hand
crafted and hand lettered just as they were in the golden age of
advertising. Zudweg uses his own aging methods that make each piece look
so authentic that just about anyone will believe they are genuine
antiques. Matt has also taken his love of traditional sign art and
combined it with unique furniture pieces such as coffee tables, cabinets,
fly tying desks and much more.
Matt is part of a very small group of
craftsman still practicing the "Lost Art" of traditional sign making, and
his work has been recognized by collectors around the world.
As you browse through this site you will see many designs available, most
of which can be customized to fit your personal interests. If you wish, as
most clients do, Zudweg can create a new design just for you whether you
know exactly what you want or have only a vague idea.
You will probably
also notice that many of Matt's designs revolve around fishing. This is a
result of his lifelong love of the sport reflecting in his art. He
believes his passion for fishing, namely fly fishing, is the reason his
work has attracted many clients in the fishing industry such as Fishpond,
Kaufmanns Streamborn, countless Orvis dealers, fly shops, guides and fly
tiers.
Not restricted to just the fishing theme, Matt has also created thousands
of signs for clients such as Max & Erma's Restaurants, The Lodge
Steakhouse, Scenic Wolf Resort and many other businesses and individuals
who appreciate the care and attention he puts into each handcrafted
creation.
